Is it possible to open the walls up on the other side of them and insert new timbers specifically to take the weight?0

You can also buy heavy weight hollow wall mounting screws. I have a set of shelves on a hollow wall with about 500 DVD's on them

Very expensive at B&Q about £7 for 8 I think the local wood yard sold them for about 10p each yeah I only found out after.0 -

Personally I wouldn't trust a shower screen on any kind of plasterboard fixings, they need to be secured either into brick-work or solid timber in my opinion.0
