Not owned one but after the wife had one as a hire car in Spain was so impressed with Kia ( swayed by their 7 year parts and labour warranty!! ) I had a test drive in one in the UK.
I used to have an 'old' style Landrover Discovery so getting into the Carens was a bit strange to say the least.
Very impressed with the car everything felt right/ lovely drive / load space good etc etc only thing was it seemed a bit low down after the Disco.
So wife sat in Sportage and we bought one ( Jan 2008 )
Diesel automatic 2 wheel drive. Not bad MPG goes like a rocket ( !!) does what it says on the box so to speak.
Lost £20 000 on the Disco in 3.5 years cant lose £20 000 on the Sportage cos only cost £16 000 !!!!!!!!!!
    Hope this helps

7 year warranty only applies to Kia Ceed and Sportage models.

    5 year for Carens.

5 years is still a very good warranty tho
  • We bought one a couple of months ago, 54 reg., service history, 31K mileage, paid £3250 via E-bay. Sad to say, it was a dead man's car. Got all the bells and whistles we will need, leather seats, air con etc. Very comfortable ride, plenty of space. It's a 2 litre diesel, bit more thirsty than the Vauxhall Vectra it replaced but not too bad. Only annoying thing about it is that there is engine boom resonates through the cabin at about 15 hundred revs. As most of its work is motorway, it doesn't bother us that much. Bought it as a tow car for our caravan. This is does well. Happy with it for what we paid.
    Hope this helps.
