Buying a new Nissan Note

They do what they say on the tin (just). Reduced maximum speed and the need to get tyre fixed asap. Obviously if you are doing long journeys this could be a big issue but if you are just using the car for local and short runs it will be fine.
How often do you get a puncture? Probably not that often.
Mind you if you are like my OH then she always trashes the newest tyre and always on the sidewall so new tyre required every time0 -

I am considering buying a new Nissan Note, probably the low emmissions diesel.
One worry I have is regarding the space saver spare wheel.
Does anyone have any comments on this vehicle or space saving spare wheels in general?
Some new cars don't come with a spare at all now.
I've hired the petrol version a few times. It feels nice and airy inside, the boot space is a disappointment even with the floor bit removed. It has a good visibility, and the seating position is very upright, feels more like being in a Van than a Car. Some (all?) of the finish plastics are a little hard and look cheap (not sure if this applies to all models). They are a bit noisy. Nothing else sticks out in my mind. I hire a lot of peugeot 308's too, and they are definitely more comfortable and have a bigger boot, but cost a lot more I guess.0 -
Having a space saver just makes you get the puncture or knackered tyre repaired/replaced sooner, rather than leaving a full size spare on and having 5 used/dirty wheels an tyres.
Is it just me or is there something really nice about a brand new wheel and tyre on a 2nd hand car?!0 -

When I bought Mrs Vikings Corsa it was an ex-demo with 80 miles on the clock. The tyres still had those manufacturing spikes on them. Then when I got home from the dealer I found an alloy spare with a brand new tyre (the brochure says steel spare) and the dealer also put in a puncture inflation kit because they thought ther was no spare! The man without a signature.0 -
Space saving???? A whole 2inches/50mm!! 40mph max - really great if you have puncture on motorway. Another great motoring innovation which should have been consigned to scrapheap. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

ive never seen a space saver with 40mph max0

i once saw a guy in a nissan sunny gtr pass me at well over 100mph with a spacesaver on....work permit granted!0

i would not let that worry you lots of cars have them now or none at all
do new nissan's come with free roadside assistance for a year if so you have that as a back up as well
my last two cars have had no spare wheel at all just a continental kit with gunk
punctyres are like windscreens you can have two in a week or two in your whole liferemember it is nice to be important
but more important to be nice0 -
I once bought an ex-MFL car for stock which had a totally bald tyre on the space saver rim! AND the wheel was inch thick with brake dust! Must have been on the car for ages!0
