Help & Advice Needed Dealing With Ebay Customer Service!!!!

I am not a regular seller, perhaps 5 or 6 times a year, selling up to 10 to 20 items a time. All my listing are genuine, ie not fakes, and I have a feedback of 100%. This being so why have Ebay places a limitation on my listings?
I have had no luck trying to get to the bottom of this, Ebay refuse to tell me why they have penalised me. They reply with standard reply e-mails, never answering the questions I put to them. I have asked for my problem to be elevated to a manager but this was ignored, I have asked for details of the ebay complaint proccedure, again this has been ignored. I have been told by my local trading standards that by EU law companies such as ebay should have one set up and allow members access to it, but my request have been refused.
In several of the replies ebay have set out certain criteria, all of which I have met, these are meant to be the reason why they have placed limitations on my account. I received a reply on the 30th December informing me that the limitations have been lifted yet I am still unable to place any items and Ebay refuse to give any reasons.
Can anyone give any advice or info as to how this problem be resolved.
Cheers and a happy new year to you all.

What exact form does this limitation take?
Are you selling health and beauty items that are automatically limited due to it being a high risk category, or are you actualy limited in the number of things you can sell.
If you cut and paste the relevant bits of any emails we might be able to suggest something.
Edit: Just noticed you can't list anything...have you received any neutrals or negative sin the past few months, what are your stars like and what does it say when you check your seller dashboard details? Any warnings or policy breaches?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. @ Soolin,
Thanks for the interest.
I am selling womens beauty items, cosmetics, genuine not fakes. My feedback as I have said is 100% with no neutrals or negatives and my star rating is mainly 5 orange coloured stars with grey/blue speck to two of the stars, so I take it this would be 99.9%. I have never had any breaches or warnings.
They have limited the number of listings that I can make, yet after 3 weeks of e-mails with standard useless replies I was informed that the limitations have been lifted yet I still cannot list.

Thank you for your reply about the listing restriction that you encountered.
To protect our users from fraud, we'll sometimes need to restrict the number of items that a seller can list.
We've looked through the history of your account, and I'm happy to say that we've raised your selling limits. This means that you'll now be able to carry on buying and selling as normal.
We'll only restrict your account again if you break our usage guidelines. Please have a look through our listing policies and guidelines by copying these links into a new browser window:
I replied that that had insinuated that I had broken ebay rules and regulations and requested to know what thay were, the reply received yesterday was;
Thanks for your email about restriction on your account,
We'll consider raising your selling limit as long as you have a good track record and know for sure that all your items are authentic. We take a number of factors into account, including buyer feedback, how long you've been trading on eBay, and whether you always trade within our guidelines.
You can contact us after 90 days and we'll review your account again. In the meantime, the best thing you can do is keep building a positive selling history, and stay in line with all our policies.
I know this may not have been the answer you were hoping for, but I'm afraid this is our final decision.
It's now a matter of principal, I am 100% sure I have not broken any rules and until ebay can show me different I will continue to fight it.

That is the standard restriction placed on small sellers in the health and beauty category. Private sellers should be fine as of course there are natural limits on the amount of your own unwanted stuff that you have available to sell. The problem comes with private or even small business sellers who want to exceed the number of allowed listings and there is no real way round this.
If you have not changed your selling account to a business one that might help but other than that you are stuck I'm afraid. The only other suggestion I've seen, but with no idea if it works or not, is to expand what you sell to includ eother categories as that takes you out of the high risk seller band. Go into books or odds and ends from your house.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Looks like they've limited you because you're considered a high risk selling relatively high volume of cosmetics on a private account rather than business account.
You can fight as much as you want for a matter of principal but you're just wasting your own time. Ebay aren't going to change their rules just for you, the customer service reps will continue to send stock emails, just switch to a business account as thats how you run the account even if only for 5/6 times a year0 -
@ Soolin & Mandy44, Thank you for your comments and views.
@Mandy44, I don't expect ebay to treat me any different from any other but if they impose any restrictions on an account would it not make sense to inform the account holder as to the reason they have taken such an action? They make matters worse by sending stock repies and ingnoring request for answers.
@Soolin, I do also sell other bits and bobs like books, clothes and mobile phones when I upgrade but I stock up with cosmetics that I do not use or want and sell them when I have between ten to twenty items which is about 4 to 5 times a year. I do it, like everyone, for pin money and do not make a fortune, but I also do it for fun and some how cannot see that my usage would warrant a business account.
Can you tell me where and why Beauty items are a high risk?
What benefits, other than the obvious, would I gain from changing to a business account?
Cheers :beer:0 -

Of course it'd make sense to actually get a direct response to any questions you asked but that'd require employing staff with some degree of intelligence so unlikely to happen I'm afraid.
Beauty items are easily and often faked cos of the ease and relatively high sale value, so always gonna be considered high risk.
What benefits will you get from a business account ? None probably as you're not likely to be turning over the volume to make it worth having. Like soolin says you either need to increase other items so the % of cosmetics is less or go for a the business account.
You could always try speaking to them to see what levels %'s etc is flagging you up just make sure you ask to speak to a supervisor/manager . I've worked in cust servs in the past and if you're emailing keep any questions as simple and direct as possible don't try to be clever or abusive and limit the questions to a minimum, you can always send other questions later, that way you're more likely to get a reply to a straight question0 -

I make you 100% correct about the c/s staff that I have been dealing with!!!!!!
I have asked several times to have my problem elevated to a manager but they totally ignored my request and returned a repeat of a previous e-mail .
Thanks for your help....:T0 -
You'd be best speaking to them if you wanted a managers input as the cs staff will have been told to deal with the emails and not pass them up the line.

I agree you will not get anywhere by sending emails they tend to reply when they want and alot of the time you do not get the answers to your questions but if you ring them they will have to answer your questions.0
