Premium Bonds from 80s

I found very old premium Bond details of my late father dating to 80's. I can check them online as the number of digits isn't enough. Anyone have any clue what I can do with them?

details here - looks like there's a live phone no, too - however, mine are from earlier than that even, and I'm able to check them online, I seem to remember; the other thing that's worth doing is updating his address details if he's moved since buying them, as that way any wins will be notified to the home address.Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0 -
In order to get a number that you can check online you should contact the Premium Bond office. I think these numbers were issued some years ago, and your father's bond may have had one issued but has since gone astray. The idea is that all bonds bought by an individual are held under the one number, like an account number (obviously they have individual numbers for the draw).
I had one bond from when I was born (late 60s) and I bought some more (£100) a few years ago. I bought them online and none of the questions applied to me (I was not a new buyer, but I didn't know my number either). I can't remember the details but I ended up putting it all in writing and it was soon sorted out and my account now shows I have £101 of bonds. I've not won a penny in case you're wondering :-(
Phone them up and I'm sure they'll help. Just a heads up though. I'm not sure what will happen if a prize has been won since your father died. I don't think premium bonds are transferable. So I think I'm right in saying they should have been cashed in as part of his estate, along with any outstanding prizes due at that time. I'm sure the premium bond office get queries like this all the time so I'm sure they'll deal with it sympathetically. Good luck!0 -
Think it's the Bond Holder's Number you need to check online, rather than the Bond Number.
A quick call to NS&I should sort you out.0 -
There is a form to complete for the deceased. I completed one many years after my father died and received reinbursement for a £1 or £2 bond. the letter said the writer was sorry that it had not received a prize.'You can't change the past, you can only change the future' Gary Boulet.
