Gas greehouse heater

I've been looking for a gas greenhouse heater,I have come across this item

http://www.greenhousewarehouse.com/contentitempage.aspx?contentid=852163 has anyone used one or know of a better system available.I'm choosing a gas one as it appears to be more economical to run.

I currently use a halogen electric heater 400/800w connected to a digital thermostatic switch.

Keep in mind that bottled gas heating will promote condensation and will initiate rot unless you ventilate adequately which to me makes it counter productive. I know a few people who like me keep tropical plants and so run both gas heaters and dehumidifiers in the greenhouse to avoid having to vent the heat.
Of course this means adding cost to run a dehumidifier which is something to avoid.

I also doubt its that gas is significantly cheaper than your existing system. I have been using paraffin heating and a recent check on consumption confirms to me that an electric option would be of similar cost if coupled with a thermostat and timer.

In future i will move to an IP21 rated thermostatic fan heater as this promotes air flow in the greenhouse and will help avoid rot. It certainly will not get shot of condensation problems but it wont add to them half as much as would a gas / paraffin heater.

Whatever you decide to do wont be perfect so good luck with your choice.
