Best thing for you would be to go to sleep too. If your having trouble sleeping because your thinking about all this stuff try the old counting sheep trick. Or what i do is try and do really hard sums in my head. Its so damm boring it sends me to sleep in about 30 secs (on the rare occasions when i cant sleep).Night!

Shame on you, suggesting maths can ever ever be boring!:rotfl:
It's the greatest brain exercise there is!
Seriously tho, I put either the telly or some music on with a sleep timer facility so my brain is distracted long enough for me to go to sleep but doesn't continue and disturb my sleep.

I'm not great at maths (failed my GCSE!) so I'll try that lol.

    Not you too!!
    Honestly!
If you're not good at maths chances are you had a duff teacher. Honestly.
I've taught maths to 3 year olds up to a 70 year old and never found one couldn't understand. Not talking research maths here I know but an adequate understanding for life and work.
    So worry not.xx

    Flossy,

Okay okay :) I was only kidding! I think I have a bit of a "mental block" about it actually - it's certainly not genetic as my brother is studying Physics & Astronomy and my sister is taking Maths Mechanics.

I shall try some music or a podcast on my iPhone then - good plan - can't really have the telly on though as I'll wake OH!

    xx

Did you get help filling in the forms before? If you fill it in with help from Citizens Advice or other welfare benefits advisors you have more chance of success and let them "worry" about how to fill it in. A lot of CABx do home visits if you are unable to leave the house at the time. As they deal with these forms every day they know how best to relate your symptoms to the form.

You do say that it runs out "in a few months" though, perhaps you are concerning yourself unnecessarily at the moment and should put it to one side for now?

peediedj, Fran - good idea re the CAB, I'll have a think on that one. I'm less than comfortable talking about my health (face to face anyway - online/via email is much easier) so I tend to "minimise" my symptoms. But it's a good idea and maybe I could just get some general advice from them and then fill in the details myself later? Thanks :)

Oh and Fran the award runs out in March so I think I've got to get started now ... it's taken me 3 months to get up the nerve to open the damn envelope, I really hate these forms! But I will feel better once they're sent off so I must just press on and get it done I think!

spora - we wouldn't dare!! :rotfl:

I've not had chance to go in the Benefits forum yet but I'm calling my doc first thing tomorrow to get an appointment. I'll talk with him re the forms and see if he has any tips/advice or could I know I can include a supporting letter from him (if he's willing to write one of course!).

I'm meeting my boss tomorrow to talk about my health - very very nervous but hoping he'll be nice - will update when I know more... !

    Night xx
