Jailbreaking the iPhone

Can anyone tell me how I got about jailbraking the iphone so I can install ringtones, themes, 3rd party apps etc???

I am sending this message from my IPhone, and myself am not about jailbreaking it. Mainly because it voids the warranty and could just completly muck it up, I don't want that to happen after spending over £200 on it.
also you don't news to jailbreak it to get ringtones, I have them, after watching videos on YouTube, can only be 40 secs though

Scooter jailbreaking the iphone is NOT illegal in anyway shape or form!!!

I think you may be wrong there as your hacking it in a form.
Jailbreaking will give you free music and apps which is illegal, why void your warranty I don't belive it's worth it

This is not illegal it only voids your warranty i guess its like getting your xbox chipped but i guess in that case using coppied games does break some laws.. I have had mine jailbroken and have had no problems todate a friend of mine did it for me though

jailbreaking is not illegal....

Its the same as changing the firmware in your DVD player so you can play any region DVD's in it

COMPLETLY LEGAL

though if you do jailbreak it you can't use it with a itunes account....the apps that you get free after jailbreaking it are made by people for jailbroken phones

and you can put free music on an iphone anyway

and as for the free apps, people have put them there AS FREE APPLICATIONS, so no laws are being broken there.... damn, are you really that stupid?

Besides that being untested opinion, I don't think you actually read what sco0ter posted, otherwise you'd have seen that the rules don't just cover what's definitely illegal. Console modification I'm pretty sure is just about the same as iphone jailbreaking. Still console modification is not allowed to be discussed on the forum though. Circumvention of copy protection mechanisms is illegal AFAIK.

As an iPhone fan and owner, i would NOT recommend that you jailbreak your iPhone, if you jail break it, any updates released by Apple will either re lock your iPhone or your iPhone will become permanently locked, ergo making it unusable.

This Site will provide free ringtones for your iPhone, i have used it loads of times and find it great as i do not want to pay for ringtones.

There are plenty of free apps for your iPhone on the App store, some good and some bad, there are also plenty of awesome apps for less than £1. (Trace is an example - it is a free App - simple and great)
