Samsung camera NV5

I received a samsung NV5 digital camera last Christmas (2007), it stopped working a couple of days ago - the lens stopped retracting and although it is fully charged, when I switch it on, it comes on for a second, then beeps and switches off. I have been on the Samsung website but there is no mention of a NV5 - It was bought in October 2007. I can't seem to find any help on this, can anyone advise?
