You are going to need a lot more info if you are going to be using a bank to do the transfer!
For a bank transfer you will need name of beneficiary, name and address of bank, bank account number, amount to be sent,
As to Western Union I think you will still need to know the other side's reference so that they can marry of both sids of the payment.
Do they not have a credit card to do a cash advance (or will shop not accept card as payment)? ATM's have a daily cash withdrawal limit but they could call into a bank with their passports to make a cash advance.0 -
thanks for helping so quickly,
you confirm what i thought - this isnt enough info!
it has struck me since that they maybe just expect us to fax our card number so the shop can put the purchases on this...but that doesnt seem very safe to me...........:A0 -
I definetly wouldn't go faxing your credit card details to anyone! Could you not assuming they took there bank cards with them just transfer the money into their current account??0

thanks all,
have decided that faxing details is too risky, whats to say that the shop keeper wont use the details again after their visit!!
i did have an actual phone call from them asking for the cash, they said a transfer to bank account is no good as their card only allows £50 per day
as they are coming home tomorrow, have no time to arrange any alternatives
thanks for all your thoughts on this:A0
