Bleedin skypephone!!

hi,

Ages ago I got the Skypephone and although I have tried a number of times I cant utilise the MP3 player.

There is a cd which comes with it but it does nothing when I put it in my computer ...

When I connect the phone to my laptop to the phone in an attempt to transfer music files, a window automatically opens which states it is the CD Drive (??) there are a whole list of files so not sure where I should drop any music files of my own? Then on the phone screen states Please Select - PC Suite which I select and then it states Please run PC Sync on your PC - I insert the CD given but im not sure its the right one (it just states "skypephone" on it, nothing else!

Does anyone else have this phone and what have they done?

I would really like to be able to use the MP4 player!!

Jen

    Hello

Not got a skypephone but I will try and help.

Have you installed the pc suite from the cd to you laptop? If not this would need to be done first.

I am going to make a big presumption that your running windows of some flavour. If you have not installed the Suite put the cd in the drive and if you get the option "Install PC Suite" click that. Ifnothing comes up just press the windows key and the E key together, you will get windows explorer, select the cd drive on the left and in the right wndow double click "setup.exe" and follow the instructions.

You will then need to start the pc suite from the Start/All Programs and then connect your phone.

Try that and let me know if t s not explanitary from there.

I've had the skypephone & the skypephone S2 and always seemed to work for me without issue using "mass storage" option when connecting the USB cable to my pc...you could use bluetooth as a past resort but it's very very slooooooow

    thanks

I just cant seem to work out how to use the media player, or transfer songs over to it. Thanks for the links -I will have a scout.

I'm really untechie tho and this is possibly the most complicated phone I have had.... i'm going into town tommorrow so I will pop in the shop and ask them as I also need to sort out the skype part as I cant seem to get that to work either. I just hope they will be more helpful than they were when I was last in there asking questions.

    hi again,

I went into town and they didnt really seem to know ...

I will go back again if a response to this is not forthcoming ...

I have installed the cd and it all goes as expected but in the Devices with Removable Storage area the options are CD Drive (F): S2 Disc Driver and DVD RW Drive (E):S2 CD Suite.... The Other area has a PC Suite option in it.

I have tried to cut/copy and paste things into these areas just to see if it will work ... and it refuses obv!

    Any advice?

    Jen
