It'll be interesting to see how this fares ratings-wise. I'd imagine it won't be a popular program.

I agree - seems like rather an inappropriate time for it.

will we see phil driving down the prices for buyers saying "get those great discounts its a great time to buy" like he did in the credit crunch special, therefore driving values down yet further...
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

What?! - does your memory not work? Kirsty and phil have spent the last fews years encouraging people to buy second homes, feeding the property frenzy and generally adding to the huge over priced property bubble. They probably almost single-handedly ensured that anyone who actually lived in Cornwall couln't afford a house in their own town, due to "James and Sarah's" dream of having somewhere to go on the weekend. They helped create a monster - the least they could do is help bring prices down to a normal level. Remember prices are still too high and we have a long way to go before we hit the bottom. Although - i still haven't seen kirsty eat the hat she claimed she would if prices went down. What was shameless was the first bit. That's when you should have been really sick.

Kirsty and Phil do a lovely show. It's really helped fuel HPI as they've encouraged people to overstretch themselves.
Remember the sealed bids one? Where they were accidentally sent a list of all bids and discovered they'd won by bidding something like 200k over everyone else, so pulled out.
Remember the two young doctors looking for a place for 800k? They too them to matlock. Lovely houses.

What's not to love about vested interests ramping up the market?

Don't blame them for second home issues. That's something for councils to sort out by insisting that 95% of houses are for locals & full time living only. All new build houses should be for full time owner occupation at sensible prices.
The societal destruction by weekend communities should be stopped.

I think they have spent years fuelling a lifestyle culture. Councils may be guilty of not ensuring enough locals can live in local properties, but i don't suppose they were ever subjected to swarms of outsiders just wanting to pop in for the weekend, so that local schools and shops have to close. I don't think for one moment we would have seen the levels we have - had it not been for the endless drivel of property programmes. A classic example on the Property Auction programme on the bbc:

"Why did you buy an auction property?"
    "Because we watched your programme."
