My right to a replacement

 Hello all,

I purchased a HP PC from Comet in Paisley for £919 on Sunday 7th December - its touchscreen and really good!

I went to put a disc in the drive today - everything was fine, but when I removed the disc it made a 'CREAK CREAK' noise.

I went to put another disc in and it would not accept it, I have tried everything.

Obviously tomorrow is 29 days from purchase, although the PC was not used until 25th Dec - I want to return to Castle Vale, I am not driving 300 miles to Paisley! - they have a replacement in stock..

What are my legal rights on a replacement of a faulty PC from comet?

Thank you all so much!
:D

  • You may have to accept a repair unless you can prove it was faulty from day one.

Try some more discs. What actually happens when you insert one?

whats supposed to be on the disc? Software?

    Hello all,

    Thanks for all your help!

The problem was - the disc drive is like the one in a car, it doesnt come out! The drive wouldnt take any discs in :(

I went to Castle Vale today and Comet replaced my £920 computer without question, which I thought was unusual,

even more unusual was the fact that the person behind me had the SAME computer with the SAME problem!

    Thanks all :)
