Help Required Uninstalling Apple iTunes

A while back I installed Apple's itunes software but now no longer require it. The problem I have is that the software is still on my system and when using add remove programs in control panel this has no effect.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of this annoying piece of software? Preferably in laymans terms.

I believe you have to unistall itunes and quicktime as well, then reboot.
