Mothercare mislead me! What shall I do?

Options
Hello everybody. Last year I was going for 3 months hollydays abroad. We was looking for light holiday pram. In the Mothercare catalogue it have stated that Quinny Zapp is smalest pram and cataloge showed weight 6 kg. So we have bought it. I have unpacked it day before the trip. And it seemed to me a bit heavier then 6 kg, But i didn't payed attention to it. Then I went on holidays it was really not as easy to carry the pram.
Just recently I have been looking trought the new Mothercare catalogue and saw that it states QUINNY ZAPP now 8.8 KG and not 6 kg ( As I thought I bought). I have both catalogues and it shows diferent. Our pram is still under garanty ( 12 month) I am thinking is there any chance have my money back or at least compensation for misleading me ? Do I have any rights?

thanks

Under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 section 13 any goods sold must com[ply accurately with any description applied to them. Therefore if they have been described as being 6kg and they are in fact 8.8 they are in breach of this statutory provision.

Therefore you have the right to a refund. The one difficulty is you may have lost the right to reject the pram because of effluxion of time - any rejections have to be made within a reasonable time.

You are def doing the right thing talking to Trading Standards.

well I was on the phone with a Trading Standarts agency and they told me that I cant do anything because of time. But I have been told that I can try to contact mothercare. So I did. And mothercare customer service Told me that They are covered for any faults in the item description and I have no rights at all. And If I wanted any weight garanty i should of weight it myself before purchasing. So I have not been told any sorry for inconvinievce and just send wherever I want.

Pity to be so disapointed with such serious store.
