I have Norton's internet security which is due to expire very soon. This will cost me about £40 for an upgrade. I didn't expect to pay this much every year. Is it worth getting or is there an alternative I can use?

But why would anyone want Norton
If you reinstall I have a feeling you would have to remove the registry entries aswell
as that has the user info on so reinstalling will show that it is still expired.0 -

I wouldn't buy it again.

Works for me as well..... Don't know why, but I'm not complaining!
As long as Norton is set-up properly, I don't find it interfere's at all, and I've never had any problem with virus's getting through0 -
norton is one of the most system intensive av programmes there is. If you want free then avg is the best there is - there is very little difference between the free and professional versions. Wtih zone alarm for your firewall you won't go wrong.
Uninstalling and reinstalling nortons will not get you back 12 months of updates back as far as Im aware but there is a handy little utility that is freely available on the web that will let you update your current version ad infinitum.0
