Train from London Liverpool St - Colchester

Options
Hi - I am looking at travelling between London Liverpool Street and Colchester for 1 month from January 12th.

Although two singles would be cheaper working out at approx £13.00 per day this apparently involves booking onto a specific train and I don't always know which train I will make. National Rail Enquiries have told me that if I miss the train I am booked onto my ticket is effectively void and I would need to buy a new ticket.

An open day return is coming in at approx £26.00 per day with a monthly travelcard working out at £380.20 (approx £19.00 per day) .

I will be travelling at peak time, around 07:00am and reurn journey around 17:30.

Just wondering if there are any cheaper options out there? Any advice will be much appreciated.

go with the monthly travelcard, as it gives you more freedom. also i doubt you will be able to get the cheap singles for the time of day you are travelling, they are like hens teeth, even off peak

No other quick way to get from london to colchester (well the train isnt that quick either lol)

Also depending on where you need to get to in colchester after you arrive, i would just point out the main station is a long walk from anywhere
