Norwich and Peterborough UNFAIR

Hello all

I have a few cards and am trying to repay them all to be credit card free

My MBNA recently ended a 0% period moving to 29% and so I transferred my balance to my existing Norwich & Peterborough cc at a reduced rate of 14.94% (Transferred 18 Dec)

I have just received a letter from N&P telling me that they have a new deal for transfers at just 7.92%

I have called them to see if I can do a deal, they said no, but did reduce my variable rate to 12%

It just seesm to me that they could move my recent (within last 2 weeks) transfer rate to the new deal if they wanted to, or am I just being silly :-)

Im going to send them a letter to ask again and see what happens

In the meantime, I have just called MBNA again and they suggest calling their loyalty dept on Monday as they are giving transfer rates at 6.9% life of balance

Just a rant here really but am I right or wrong :-)

Thanks

    I assume that's a rhetorical question. ;)

Seriously, you have loads of options here. Call MBNA retentions on Monday during office hours on 0800 783 1116 and ask what offers are on your card. You may need to wait until after the zero balance statement has been produced for the better ones.

A decent rate fee-free, or 0% with a standard fee would be great.

If, however, they'll only do you fee-free at your standard rate then it could still be beneficial to shift the debt back to them and then move it all back to N&P.

Do your sums, but anything with one 3% fee is good...isn't it?
  • I agree

    Thanks Yorkshire
