electric reclining chair and bed social services help

hi, i asked for a payment for a reclining riser chair and a bed from the social fund but was turned down..they said social services will provide one..is this true...thankyou

i'm sure someone who knows better will be along in a moment
but i would have thought it was a community care grant you would need
to apply for as it includes items specifically for your disability.
if you have a big need you might be eligible for 'direct payments' (now called something else) from which you could purchase what you need indepedently.
social services around my way would not normally provide a riser chair without an ot assessment- for which there is a long waiting list
or bed- if a nurse specifically thought a special bed was necessary.0 -
