Why is this forum so harsh these days, i try to give help and get nothing but !!!!! They knew she'd purchased it from there, she goes in every day, talks to everyone, it can take her an hour to get a loaf of bread, they were just being ackward and didnt wanna do the paper work.
HMV gave the credit with barely any questions, they are always helpful. Im not in the best mood with asda in general these days and to add we have not shopped in asda since christmas eve despite leaving 2 minutes away, we'd rather hike to morrisons or tescos on bus.
To add more reasons of why i hate asda, better reasons, what store would have a store policy of calling taxi's instead of amberlances for people who have collapsed and had strokes in store!? This is to protect theyre appearance towards other members of the public, they dont give a hit about theyre customers!
There is no paperwork to do unless something is faulty
It just goes back out onto the shopfloor...Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
My Dad accidentally bought my Mom "Mamma Mia" on Blu-Ray for Xmas by accident. Good job I noticed and the shrink wrap was still on. It was bought from Asda and he still had the receipt.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £16,087.170

HMV will not offer a thing if they know that the DVD didn't come from their shop. And it depends on the manager there whether or not they will accept it without any HMV stickers on, etc.
I used to work there.
Yes, unfortunately I was bought Mammia Mia on BlueRay rather than DVD by mistake. It was apparently from HMV but there was no HMV sticker on it and they won't even exchange it without a receipt..... I was told by their sales assistant they were having to be extra careful because of the Zavvi thing.Waddle you do eh?0 -
I bought a blueray disk from woolies by mistake, was ready to sell it when i noticed something on the back of the box mentioning dvd, tried it on DD's dvd player and it works:xmastree: :rudolf: :xmastree:0

It's not Asda's fault that she could not prove that she purchased the DVD from their store, your mother is the awkward one for not keeping the receipt.
the op`s mother most probably did keep the receipt, but there would not have been much point in the op going to asdas customer services armed with a woolworths receipt:rolleyes:Take every day as it comes!!0 -

I see you have removed all of posts now.. Pity you cant do anything about the quotes.
No one is being "harsh". you were moaning that ASDA were being awkward for not offering an exchange in reply to the OP who clearly stated they DID NOT buy it from ASDA. YOU did not mention anything about MAMMA MIA or anything to do with your mother until a few posts later. Please do not try and blame others here for your mistake and unclear post.0 -
