Search facility not working?

Is the search link not working, or is it just me. for about a week now, when i request a search ( eg for something very common, which i now exists)..the message returns as "sorry, no searches found'

can anyone help/advise?? thanks

hmmm...anyone else got problems with 'search' facility..or are we doing something wrong??

Make sure that you are selecting a board or boards for it to search. I think the parameters have been changed and what used to have everything ticked now has nothing ticked. There is a select all button towards the bottom of the search page. Also you may want it to search back further than three days which it has set as standard. I hope I am not telling you something you are already doing!

I thought I might have missed something the other day, I noticed it had changed (for the better) so I double-checked everything but it still couldn't find what I needed

I hope since we got rid of the old posts the search facility and recent posts should be working fine for everyone all the time?

I havn't had a problem since the old posts were deleted. The previous error was a page not displayed error due to time outs. The error your getting sounds like the search has worked ok but there are no results. Make sure you try everything marmite has suggested. Try a test with a common word and make sure all the forums are selected.

Since you did that, every time i've come on for however many recent posts , they've loaded ok..and fairly quickly.

I have done a search so many times and forgotten to tick the boxes ;D ;D but it is working brilliantly now when done properly

Aha! I just did a test ;D I did another search for something I know I posted a while ago and it's still "not found", so think it must be one of the deleted ones, when I searched for something I posted today it was found straight away.
