X Box live

Hi

Been searching for ages for info regarding X box live as how much it eats at my internet quota?

Just received a mail from Bt saying nearly exceeding my allowance for the 1st time!

I know the kids have been playing the X Box live everyday since Christmas day but they are not downloading anything.

Any ideas anyone?

    Hi

They may not be downloading, but data or information will flow bwtween your xbox and the xbox live server and as such this information or data is what BT will look at and count towards your allowence....

If your playing (or the kids) are playing games on Xbox live, flow of information and game data is always happening.... It may not be on your Xbox hardrive to see, but some will be there and some will be exchanged....

The amount used all depends on what you or the kids are doing/playing etc..

    ;):D
  • Depends on whether the xbox is used to host games and how much voice chat is being transferred, but a general ballpark figure would be between 100-150mb per hour.
  • They are playing Fifa ,09 , midnight club but the info being sent and received must be peanuts compared to watching Gavin and stacey for hour on BBC i player on my pc!

How much are you paying a month for your BB with BT? I think we're around £25 a month, and someone is nearly always online somewhere in our house (6 of us here), whether it be on the PC, laptop, PS3, Wii or Xbox360. We've never had to pay any extra.

Option 1, still got 14 months left! Use net meter when on pc rarely used to go above 1gb. Now been using apple mac instead of pc for last couple of weeks.

Aha, yeah... That would be why then also if they are playing Fifa and your watching BBCi too... It's all data my friend.

Would be worth finding out what package your on with BT and how much you pay too...

Sky is unlimited for £7.50 pm.
I have never had any problems with going over any allowance with 4 xbox's running, pc's at the same time too.

Trying to game online and watch video with a 1gb allowance is going to result in your going over it.
