Faulty electric oven

Hi, my wife somehow managed to spill some water on the work suface above our electric over whic dripped down the edge an under and actually into the oven right above the temperature control. Anyway, sparks flew but funnily enough it did not blow the trip switch fuse, but as you would expect the oven no longer works. The fan still works but there is no heat - the grill also worked initially but doesn't now. Its now two weeks since and its all dryed out now, so is there an internal fuse or something that can easily be replaced or do I need to get a man out?

  • I had a very similar situation to yours, the fan/grill and clock etc all worked but no heat. I took my oven out and stripped it down expecting to find a nice simple fuse I could replace but nothing, it turns out the actual element which heats the oven had 'blown'.

The oven was out of guarantee so called the number on the back of the instruction booklet and they sent me a new one for £35.99 replaced it and now its pizza night on fridays again :)
  • Cheers. Mine has two elements for the grill and oven and both are not working - does this mean both have blown?
  • I wouldnt like to say, does seem strange that both would blow, my grill was fine, maybe yours does have a internal fuse?, mine was only a cheapo special from b&q.
