As the other posts say it's all down to your attitude to risk and you car's past reliability goes for nothing when you're stuck in the middle of nowhere and your car won't start!
Speaking purely from my experience last night when my uber-reliable car decided that it was way too cold to move, I have never been so relieved to see those yellow flashing lights of the patrol van.
Only took out AA membership in December when the breakdown cover linked to my car insurance expired - cost worked out at £1 per week for the year. IMO well worth every penny!

xDecluttering, home-making and 'proper' cooking are my priorities this year and trying to finish all those unfinished hobby projects before spending any more money!0 -

If you've got Tesco Clubcard points vouchers, use them to pay for RAC cover. The RAX is listed in the clubcard deals and each voucher is worth 4x face value towards the RAC cover. Basically for £31 worth of Tesco CC vouchers, both my wife and I have RAC cover with assistance, recovery and onward travel.Conor

AutoAid policy holder here. Never needed it but for £37 annually it gives great piece of mind that if and when I do need it, I only need to make a call.
Approx 0.71 pence per week....no brainer!0 -

I knew someone would ask that. She doesn't/didn't work direct for them she works for a windscreen company that was taken over by the RAC, who were then taken over by Norwich Union, who then became Aviva.  :mad:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0
