My cleaning stuff is all under the sink as well, (although my kids are older) I looked at the link but to me it just looks like something else to clutter up the bench with.
We all have our temptations tho...mine is matching clothes hangers, I detest mistmatched ugly shop hangers and last time I was in ikea I bought a load of lovely white ones. They weren't a lot of money it was definately a want more than a need, but when I think how much I hated the others I do feel better with these, a touch OCD I think. There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0 -

Rache wrote:I'm still in the "must have" mindset because I really want something nice to keep my washing up liquid etc in. Something like this: http://www.johnlewis.com/Home+and+Garden/Laundry+Room/++Ironing/+Containers+/230207805/Product.aspx
Can anyone suggest something that doesn't cost £12 which will make my worktop look nicer?

How about looking in a charity shop. Then you can tell yourself that not only are you getting something you want but the money is being used for a good cause.
If you keep popping into your local ones they will put stuff by for you when it comes in.

Just to keep you going until you've saved enough for the John Lewis one
I like matching stuff in my kitchen too and like a change as well so I money save by buying decorated plantpot holders because they come in loads of sizes and there's always a colour and pattern to match decorating schemes.
My latest buy was two mexican pots from Homebase, £1 each - one holds washing up liquid, pot scourer, brush and the other holds a roll of kitchen paper and they sit on the window ledge above the sink. When I feel like a change they will be recycled into the garden to join the others I've bought over the years. It's surprising what a change of holder, tea towels and home made curtains can do to acheive a different look and colour scheme in a kitchen. Or so I tell myself until I can buy a Smallbone of Devizes kitchen :rotfl:0 -

Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,

I think it's really nice too Rache, and you've got me looking out for something similar myself!
I don't think it's expensive for what it is... maybe it's just a matter of waiting til your money is more sorted and then having it as a treat later on?0 -

Arrgggh, I wish I hadn't looked at this thread (what is my keyboard doing now?) I want one of the laundry ones, I'm getting very tired of having all my soap powder cluttering up the floor by the washing machine.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
