Ppi - Pc World And Hfc

In December 2002 I bought I laptop from PC World and it was on the buy now pay later plan with the finance given by HFC. When searching earlier I found I story about HSBC being fined in particular there dealings with HFC as they own them. I have dug out the paper work from the purchase.
The laptop was £1287.99 - inc £299.00 for the extra cover. I paid this amount within the 12 mths so wouldnt have to pay for the interest. However, on looking at the paperwork I would pay in total if I didnt pay within 12 mths £2,395.38 - inc interest. However on looking at it further it says that the montly payment would be £64.74 - and it says next to this that including PPI if required. It doesnt give a total amount for PPI or states how to opt out of it.
Would it be worth pursuing even though all the credit was paid before interest etc took hold.
Any advice appreciated
Martin

Hi there
I would check out this link here to see if any of this occurs to you:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
If so write first to PC World as they obviously arranged this finance for you, they may however state that you have to go through this with HSBC/HFC, so it may be a bit like "pass the buck case with this one".
So if any of the list occurs to you hun, there is also a template letter on that link, they have 8 weeks to respond in full.
Add as much info as possible to support your complaint.
Post by recorded delivery.
If you can let us know the outcome here, in order for us to be able to help you move on with this one.
Expect some messing about, but keep at them, especially if you feel you were mis sold.
Good luck.
There is also an actual PPI Reclaiming -Discussion thread for this query where myself and others will be happy to help out further.;)
Just click on loans and that mentioned thread will be found top of the page.
