I have this mental picture of Brown & Darling being crazed doctors, with a patient with a very bad cold comes in. They go through the A-Z list of drugs prescribing everything to ensure the patient gets better, when in reality they would get better on their own given time, and the drugs don't work but cost a fortune! You'd call these doctors incompitent would'nt you?!

sensible post i read in some time.

  • I realy do think this country is well and truly stuffed.
We've allowed the lunatics to run the asylum and no matter who gets into power all the things these madmen have done have only made things much harder to put right. We're all going to suffer and long term.
I also think public attitude is going to make this recession much harder.
With past recessions we did'nt have such high expectations of life.
Nowadays youngsters want this that and everything and they want and expect it yesterday. The boom time brought that and it's going to be very hard to bring about a big change in thinking in young people especially. My own family included.
I'm seeing a lot of unhappy people these days and not many willing to compromise and knuckle under. It's going to be a shock for a lot in the days to come.I wonder how they'll manage.

Unfortunately, I think how a lot of people will 'manage' is by turning to crime and fraud. Expect muggings to rocket.

Tax evasion is now mandatory just to survive! There is no question of morality as out 'Dear Leader' is the least moral man in Britain. And the Son of the Manse too...shameful!

Would it not be cheaper for the banks to go bust the debt to be sold on and the savers to get there money back?

This country is surely heading for bankruptcy in the future.

Good idea. Unfortunately a large number of the top bankers are friends with Cameron, Brown and her Maj, some if not all have had their gongs, and no one wants to let their old chums down. Plus if the govt did pull the plug on the banks some uncomfortable truths about the mis management of the economy might come out, and we can't have that.

Once you get the idea that the whole system is rotten and corrupt from top to er. just below the top, then it's easier to see why they don't do the bleedin' obvious.

well I guess no one will be wanting to get into cryogenetics then......Labour would probably hit you with a "dead tax" when you were brought back to life

Once they start the money printing they can effectively steal wealth from everyone who holds a positive balance in sterling.

So far, with borrowing being used to bail out the fiscally incompetent the burden was on current and future generations of taxpayers. That won't be enough to rescue the lenders and their irresponsible customers so they now have to dip into savings capital and take even more off of wage earners to save the skins of the stupid.

Every pound less borrowed (to buy a house) is more than two pounds less to repay and more than three pounds less to earn, over the course of a typical mortgage.

Speaking of printing money, did you know that in the recent banking bill, the Government quietly changed the way in which they have to notify how much money they are printing?

It'll keep happening until you guys vote the Socialists out of power. Unfortunately Cameron seems to be a Socialist in Tory clothing so who you can vote for to stop the madness remains unclear.

Good luck anyway. Plant some potatoes in the back garden just in case.
