Hello jem1276
I'll move your thread to the 'Techie Stuff' board.

Does not your laptop have built in wireless?
If not then something like: http://www.techfocus.co.uk/USB-Adapters-Dongles/TFPC16.htm?utm_source=froogle&utm_medium=organic&utm_content=TFPC16
I'm not saying I recommend this one or this supplier, just one of the first I googled. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Is this what you are looking for - click here
All the other networks also provide this so you need to decide which is best for you.0 -

I think what you need to google for is 'mobile internet'.
MY daughter has just signed up with Vodaphone, having researched pretty well, but its not going well. All sorts of probs, not least poor coverage.
Where they say 'low strength' seems to actually mean 'NO' strength so check availability in the area you will want to access the internet from, that there is a strong signal for your provider of choice.
Good luck.:T0 -
Don't know where to start and have tried searching on here but think I must be using the wrong technical terms as I can't find anything.
I suppose we first need to find out whether you want to use your laptop via your home broadband on a wireless router, or you want to use broadband over the mobile phone network. Sorry I just assumed standard wireless config. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Personal Compute Word (I think Feb edition avail now) has a comprehensive review of these mobile broadband offers. Voda and T-Mobile were at the top. It's horses for courses, might be worth reading that mag. For a no commitments option, just to try it for occasional use then the T-Mobile dongle £30 via Quidco + £2.00 for 'unlimited' usage on any one day might be worth trying.0

Thank you all so very much for the replies.
It is broadband over a mobile phone network I am after.
I will have a look into the offers, thank you.
The first ones I have seen are 18-24 months contracts. I don't want to be tied in that long so pay as you go may be just the ticket.
Thanks :money:0 -
I don't need a lot of 'allowance' or whatever the right tech term is, I only want to browse the web and check email on it.
Thanks x0
