Situation - Bank refusing to move my direct debit date from end of the month to the start of the month - anything to stop me cancelling the original and setting up a new one?

DD is set up not by your bank, but buy some other organisation that takes money by DD (by your authority). Only this organisation can change the date of DD. Yes, you can cancel DD, but you cannot be sure that this organisation will agree to set up a new DD on the date you want.0
