Dell C600 laptop hinge replacement

One of the hinges in my display has snapped, I've found some on ebay but can anyone tell me how I might get in there without snapping anything else?

"I've had the same problem with my D600 and here's how I fixed it.

Step 1: Push the screen all the way back.

Step 2: Pull off the plastic panel that is between the screen and keyboard. Do this carefully so you don't break it. This will expose what's underneath.

Step 3: Each hinge has 1 black colored screw. Tighten them to tighten up your loose screen.

Step 4: Snap the plastic panel back on and voila! Your laptop is good as new!"

I appreciate his problem was different but both are in the hinge area.

Thanks collagary, but mine appears to have the bulk of the hinge inside the screen casing. I think I need to separate the front and back of the display, but I'm not sure how

The hinge on the D630 runs up the inside of the screen.

On mine, you need to pop the screen cover off. Remove the rubber round covers on the screen, and undo the screws. Pop off the cover to the screen.

You'll now see how the hinge attaches to the screen itself.
