CCJ's - satisfied vs unsatisfied

I posted the below in the DFW section, but as it's not been read and is sliding off the page, I thought I'd open it up in here as kind of relevant...
Hi,
I've got 3 CCJ's from just over 4 years ago - total of approx £13K.
Now all 3 were paid within a couple of months of receiving the claims through, but not in time for them to be removed from the register (unfortunately
)
I've never bothered to get the CCJ's marked as satisfied, so all 3 are still currently showing as unsatisfied.
I'm aware that 3 satisfied CCJ's totalling £13K is pretty crap for my credit rating anyway, so is there any point in the hassle of obtaining proof of settlement and paying to have them marked as satisfied?
Cheers dudes.

Hi TFD,
I would definitely log a query with Experian, Equifax and Callcredit to get them marked as satisfied. You just need to let them know and they will contact the companies concerned to ensure that the info is correct, and they will update their records accordingly.
True, it's not good having a CCJ on your file, but it is much better to have them satisfied than unsatisfied. It is still possible to get a cc with a satisfied CCJ, albeit one with a rather hefty APR.
Good luck

I paid for mine to be marked as satisfied when I had one (it disappeared forever in September
) but it was just the one, I guess it depends on whether you plan on applying for credit/mortgage etc, if you don't then I probably wouldn't bother, it was important for me to have it marked for pyschological reasons as well as needing to remortgage within that six years. It does make a difference but as you already know its pretty rubbish anyway with £13k worth on record.
Best of luck

Sammy it doesn't work like that with CCJs, you have to get a certificate of satisfaction from the court which costs £10 (or it did when I did mine) which is why the OP is unsure whether to do it."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -
All these Sammy's posting, I'm getting very confused...

TBH it's more than hassle in obtaining the proof that the claims were paid, than the £30 that concerns me. I've made some efforts, unsuccessfully, so far, and didn't know whether it was really worth the hassle.
If it was one CCJ, particularly for a smaller amount, I would make the effort, but these were quite hefty!
I've got plenty of credit already, so not in a rush to apply for any - even with them marked as satisfied, I would be unable to get mainstream lending to reduce the interest I already pay, so not really an issue.
Incidentally Capital One did accept me last month with a £1000 limit - I guess they have taken the age of the CCJ's into account more than other lenders.0 -

Sorry Sammy, I wrongly assumed it was a process like that of defaults
. Well I learn something new every day
OP, what are the dates of the CCJs? Do you have long until the 6 years are up? I think, like Sammy, I would want to have them marked as satisfied, morse so for my own peace of mind. But yes, it does sound like a bit of a faff to get it done!0 -

The oldest 2 have about 18 months now to run, the other 1 has 2 years now.
I would rather they were marked as satisfied, as it is misleading, but wasn't sure if there were any other advantages to having them marked as satisfied - if it's only going to be psychological, then I'll spend the £30 on Jack Daniels and save my time!0 -
