wouldnt touch a fiat again tbh after my current one, should have listened to the warnings as should you.
shame, i always like the look of fiats as well0 -
1.2 is a bit lethargic for a car that size.
Dynamic is quite decent spec.
2006 plate onnes are on sale for around 4000 with mileage in the 20's...0 -

I had 3 Fiats in a row (a used Panda then 2 Puntos from new) - I've now defected to a Honda Jazz and I'm very glad that I have! Up to 3 or 4 years old they've generally been fine, they've got nice engines and good specs for the money, but they're not built to last. The bodywork's much better than it used to be, but there always seem to be squeaks and bangs that develop and weird electrical faults (I had a speedo on one that would randomly drop to zero once in a while for a few miles, they never managed to fix that!). Generally, my 4 year old Jazz feels less likely to let me down than a much newer Fiat ever did.
If you're buying new and not keeping for too long, you'll probably be fine, but then they depreciate so much that it would end up costing you more than something better anyway.4.7kWp (12 * Hyundai S395VG) facing more or less S + 3.6kW Growatt inverter + 6.5kWh Growatt battery. 1v100 £15/3000 -
I don't know if the recession and a new model have had any effect, but used Jazz were about most expensive in their class, and none too easy to source other than Honda dealer. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

The list price of the Jazz new is probably around 20% or so more than a similar Fiat - and the gap widens as you can get good discounts on Fiats and not on the Jazz.
However the What Car "real cost", which takes into account depreciation and running costs over 3 years is actually lower for a Jazz 1.4ES than a Grande Punto 1.3 75 Dynamic. I'm not sure how the specs compare, but at least that gives some idea. Obviously buying new and running for 3 years before selling is hardly the "moneysaving" thing to do, but if you kept the 3 year old Fiat for a few more years, you'd be faced with quickly escalating maintenance costs and bits falling off, whilst the 3 year old Jazz would be very much like a new one.
It's a shame that the new Jazz seems to be a step backwards after the original one, but isn't that always the way?4.7kWp (12 * Hyundai S395VG) facing more or less S + 3.6kW Growatt inverter + 6.5kWh Growatt battery. SE London/Kent. Fitted 03/22 £1,025/kW + battery £24950 -
Not always.:rolleyes:Officer_Dibble wrote: »It's a shame that the new Jazz seems to be a step backwards after the original one, but isn't that always the way?
The new CRV is a massive improvement on the old one.
Still nothing to do with Fiat Puntos. Had a Fiat 126 in the 70's and it was a complete pile of sh1te. Still I expect they've improved since then.
Unless subsequent Fiats have been "backward steps"!!!! :eek:0
