                    Hi All,
Im going to France in June and Im concerned about the current rate of the £ v Euro. I have a couple of questions I hope someone can give me some assistance with...
1. Whats the general consensus on the exchange rate going up and down?
2. Do you think it is going to get worse and if so how bad?
3. Should I be changing my money now because it is going to worse?
Im fairly happy with my home finances, but the exchange rate has got me worried, this time 6 months ago I went to Italy and I was getting a lot more for my money, how bad can it be in another 6 months?!
thanks for your help!

I would buy them now as I think it is going to get worse. I have an apartment near Puerto Banus that I rent out and have seen the exchange rate drop so much over the last few months and the general feeling is that it will go down further still.0

Yeah, i think it will drop as well a bit more so if you can you may as well buy them now, or at least get a %age to hedge yourself.
The rest of the world seem to look at the uk like a timebomb waiting to go off Iceland style. We aint big enough like euro-land and the USA.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep

According to an article in the Times today the Euro will collapse because of the huge debts run up by some of the Eurozone countries. Unlike Britain they cannot devalue their currency and, in effect, reduce their debt.
I wouldn't get Euros - take coloured beads and little mirrors to trade with ! :rolleyes:0 -
If i wasn't going until june i personally wouldnt buy now.
1 Do you want to tie your money up until then in euros at a rubbish rate
2 If it gets better you'll be gutted.
3 Realistically can it get much worse and if it gets worse can we really afford to go to countries in the euro.0 -
im going to cyprus soon and could cry, im wondering whether to just order today whilst i can or wait a few days

my theory was the xmas sales would boost our economy so put the pound up in early jan.......obviously the hair bleach has rotted the few brain cells i had left:rotfl:***MSE...My.Special.Escape***0 -
We should have joined the Euro instead of being stuck in the Middle Ages.Instigated terrorism the road to dictatorship.0

Go into any bookmakers and there you will find plenty of people who will tell you which horse to put your money on. Unfortunately it is the same with the Euro Vs the Pound. If I knew which way it was going and by how much I could be a multi millionaire.Something Really Interesting0

I would probably hold on for another few months and see what is going to unfold. I think the £ will probably go down a little bit more than the euro in the next few weeks, however I also think once the recession bites most of europe the pound may just rise again. Britain is not the only country in recession, the whole world is, just that Britain is taking a big hit at the moment.0
