Benefits and Traveling

Comments

  • Their post had everything to get the blood boiling ... on long term benefits, travelling around the country (while the rest of us are chained to work) & a new baby on the way. That I found annoying.

But the most annoying thing of all was the knowledge that they can take a year out, travel around the country to their hearts delight and there's little if anything that can be done about it. All they have to do is declare themselves as persons without an address (PWA) & their benefits remain the same as now, the only thing in place to curtail their activities is an occasional medical or job centre interview ... which can be conducted anywhere.

Isn't it that which grated so much ?

If a person declares themselves PWA while on Income Support they lose all premiums and receive just the personal allowance of IS. By premiums I mean Disability Premium, Enhanced Disability Premium and Severe Disability Premium.

It's hardly taking a year OUT anyway, if you're not working!

I believe the original post said they were using an accomodation address, think it was a member of the family.

And please do not alter the default typeface. That is very irritating.
Am I to understand that you are irritated by the font someone chooses ? Or was there more to it ? I did not see original post you see!
    Thanks

You are absolutely right. I'm an !!!!. I meant NFA.

Think I really should maintain my self imposed exile.

The original post was in Comic Sans, which to be fair is a pretty horrible font although perhaps not entirely deserving of the vitriol it received...

If they were just using the address for correspondance, and were to be staying in a caravan rather than in actual buildings, then they would be classed as "without accomodation" and so would lose any premiums.

    Wow!
As long as it's not huge or very bright the text style is irrelevant to me, I don't like it when the whole post is written like this or like this though lol!
