Hi all, long time reader, first time poster.
I have an A&L eSaver issue2, which as we know has dropped their rates from 5 to 4%.
I was looking throough a few websites to find what I considered a good rate.
I notice that Martin doesn't seem to recommend the above account though?
Currently paying 4.49% AER surely it should be mentioned somewhere, at least in the best of the rest?
As far as I can tell this is a reasonably 'no tricks' account, unlike the A&L account is. Have a missed something as to why it isn't recommended?
Any thoughts welcomed.

It certainly features on Moneyfacts Internet Savings Accounts.0

That's actually where I found it.
It's a better account than A&L for sure. I might watch it for this month to see what they do (i.e. if there are any delayed interest rate cuts) and the make my move on Feb 1st.0 -
Erm, I would check the rate again. No need to wait until 1st Feb - the rate now seems to be 3.34%.
They must have changed it after you looked0 -
Yes the website' rates are obviously being changed as I write, attempting to check the rate here brings up the following message:info_addict wrote: »Erm, I would check the rate again. No need to wait until 1st Feb - the rate now seems to be 3.34%.
They must have changed it after you lookedSorry, an error has occured. The page you requested could not be found or a unrecoverable problem occured0 -
Must've been one of those 'not yet dropped' rates.
Seems A&L isn't all that bad!0 -
Consider why Newcastle have been forced into bringing out an issue 7 of this account. That alone should be warning enough to keep away from it.0
