Hi,
I'm trying to edit some video and audio files for a friend, some of which are VOB files that he has on a CD/DVD that have come from his video camera - he had this done at a video store.
I am trying to tally up seperate audio and video recordings, so it would be easiest if I could convert these VOB files into WMV or similar so that I can play around with them in Windows Movie Maker. I've done a quick search on the web and found references to plenty of VOB editors, and the odd program you can try for a very short period that can convert media files, but is there a quick, easy & free program that I can download to convert the VOB files with the minimum fuss?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Shane.

I use a program to convert VOB files to MPEGs .... xilisoft dvd ripper .. I think that the latest download is time-limited but you can have a 'very close look' on the internet and find previous versions which are fully working.
You can choose your output file from several options, I use it to store stuff on my PC which I might want to watch when I'm bored surfing but squash the DVD VOB file down to about a quarter of it's original size to save space.
Hope this helps a bit or at least points you in the right dir.0
