Dial-up Connection box

It's disappeared - I've had to log on via my ISP. I usually log on via the box (if you know what I mean).
Does anyone have any ideas as to:
1. Why it's disappeared; and
2. How do I get it back.
Thanks in anticipation of your help.

i have absolutely no idea what you mean.. Even with the dial-up connection box you'd have to logon via your ISP so you must have a dialup connection still configured on your computer.
can we have a few more details..0 -
How did you actually log on?Torgwen..........

I can understand why you are all confused - so am I.
Usually when I switch my machine on I think it's the Internet Explorer Dial-up Connection box that comes up and I get a connection via that.
When that didn't happened I phoned up One-Tel and talked me through putting a short-cut to One-Tel connection on my desktop. So, when the IE dial-up connection doesn't come up, I can click on to the Short-cut one.
My questions is, why doesn't the IE (I think that's what it is) one come up originally like it used to?
Does that make sense? I'm not techie, so am explaining it the best I can. I'm really sorry.
If you can't help me ........ I'll understand.if i had known then what i know now0 -

Try changing it to 'Dial whenever a network connection is not present' or 'Always dial my default connection'. You'll have to set the default connection if you have more than one ISP.0 -
That may be the reason.
Or it may be that you used to have an application running on startup (like MSN Messenger, or Outlook Express/Outlook, or something else which requires Internet access) which would trigger the dial-up box, and that you have changed things so that no longer happens.0
