Thanks fyp, I had to put some of the figures lower as we don't have enough surplus otherwise, we would have a deficit. Only thing that is concerning me if i'm on maternity leave at the moment but go back to work in Feb, the child tax credits are only estimated and may be more - can we up the figures as you have suggested at a later date if necessary so we don't have to pay into an IPA. My husband is being forced into BR in 2 weeks, I am going to petition mine once we are settled in the new house and have gas/electricity in etc xI cant change the past, but the future is mine to play with!

I had a negative surplus on my SOA and was never questioned. I would rather have negative in case they don't allow any of the things you've put down. Yes, though if your circumstances change then you can re-do it but it seems a hassle.
Will you be able to transfer your utilities to your new home?

ps. the figures i've listed are once i'm back in work, shall my husband use these as technically they won't be in effect until mid Feb and he is going BR in January? Otherwise there will be a major deficit on his forms as I am on nil pay for a month before my return xI cant change the past, but the future is mine to play with!

I'd put what the figures are now. If there is negative he can explain why.

That's good to know I thought for some reason you aren't allowed to go BR with a deficit, will up them then.
The utilities we have not missed any payments but I think we do owe them some money. I was thinking of using a different supplier at the new property so if we do owe anything it can be included. Does that sound ok???I cant change the past, but the future is mine to play with!

I'm not sure you can include the utilities - I suppose you could if you have signed up with someone else. They may chase you for them but if you are going BR shortly (within the next few months) I don't think they would have time to take you to court for payment.

That might be better actually. I've just mentioned it to him now and he said maybe we could print a copy of the makingsenseofcards soa and take the OR a copy for information purposes in case any questions are asked xI cant change the past, but the future is mine to play with!

The OR will get a copy of the SOA you put down on your BR forms so you need to make sure you are speaking about the same one.
Most probably his interview will be by phone. Mine was in person but most are by phone - I had 2 businesses which I think complicated the matter so they wanted to see me in person but I felt better able to explain in person so didn't mind.
