Crap Cleaner question...

Options
I'm running spybot and AVG, but having read other threads i decided to download C/C, and it has done a check and found loads and loads of stuff, like cookies, and temporary files and such like, should i go ahead and let c/c deleate these, (it tells me these will be permenatley deleted),.....but my PC works fine, i update daily, and scan twice a week, so should i just forget about c/c, any suggestions please....

    not great advice.

maybe explain that some of those cookie might be useful. for example one that remembers me on MSE so i dont log in on every visit. and the the temporary internet files speed up access to regularly visited sites.

yes i do use CC every 2 weeks and re enter all my passwords on the various sites i visit no bother, and in todays broadband ages the internet cache is not really needed, but explaining to someone what they are about to delete is a little more helpful.

Use crap Cleaner as frequent as you like and if you keep passwords
stores in Auto Complete form data thats foolish especially if the PC gets pinched.

Also cookies are not of any real use they are more of a pain in the behind than anything, especially trace and track cookies.

I use CCleaner on average 4,5,6 times a day (as a lazy mans way of clearing history, unnecessary files etc). On a 2Mb connection, I find that it doesn't affect me on sites I use all the time (like this one). I just login when I need to (I only login when I want to reply to a thread).

CCleaner lets you choose cookies you don't want to delete. I do this for several sites and delete all the others at least weekly.

If you go to Options -> Cookies it shows you the cookies currently on your machine and you can them move the ones you want to keep.

This is why I use ccleaner rather than Firefox's inbuilt remove feature.

It deletes all cookies but keeps the ones I want to :)
