Get your name removed from the joint account asap or the bank could freeze it before you have time to remove it after you go BR. Is it in overdraft?
Not sure about having to tell your boss about the change of name but I would say most likely no you don't have to say anything, but someone will correct me if I am wrong.
Have you sorted out where the CHB is going to be paid?
Don't be afraid to ask anything at all.

no overdraft (well £10) not being used at the mo and that reserve thingy (again not being used at the mo - their for just in case!)
havent sorted out cb act thought the current one may be ok its no longer linked with a current account and only has a cash card - so do i need to change it?
Tax credits all £39 of it goes into a savings act in my son's name - hasnt got a cash card
regarding store cards & credit card they have all been stopped anyway I think - I havent been able to spend anything on then for several months now since i'd contacted them earlier in the year regarding reduced payments before i realised i could earn some extra income (thats not an option now as lost previous job and could do some work in the day time- now not able to as working then anyway)
Didnt realise I ony have 9 days to go to get everything sorted! - OMG!BR as of 14/1/2009

Ok then both go into the branch together and get it sorted.
That account will be frozen if it is not a BR friendly bank so arrange to have it paid into the one that you are taking your name off or ask for it to be paid by giro until you sort a new account out, then after you are made BR phone up the Co-op and open a Cashminder or Barclays and open a Cash account and then get it paid into that.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
Child Benefit can be paid into an account that is not in your name. They will freeze any payments you are owed until they recieve a letter from you confirming the details, in writing as it is in someone else's name. You have to sign declaration that the named person will give the money to you, for your child/ren's benefit.
Post BR we were not able to set up our own bank account and I wasn't about to faff on trying to get one sorted so I use an account my mum doesn't use and get stuff paid into, and from there with no problems.0 -

Yes, that's right tiger, I used my OH's account for about a year, no probs, except for AA Car insurance who wouldn't set up a DD from itAccept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

Yes you put things like car expenses together etc. There is also a drop down box to add extras.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0
