Fizzel81 if you have any savings they should go on your debt! aside from a 3-6 month emergency fund (which I don't have!) and of course you can sort the debts out with the four challenge you will get lots of support and ideas. its lovely there isn't it?

can the wise talk some sense into me?savings are good but being df would be the icing on the cake

I don't know a huge amount about F and F settlements but DO make sure you get it all in writing before you pay. sneaky lying gits will just keep coming back otherwise - also check your credit rating soon after to make sure it is cleared. but the in writing is the main thing.

If you have any savings with debts they are kinda of pointless you aren't "making" any money on the interest etc if you have debts with interest, it cancels out interest on your debts.

so it makes more sense use your savings to pay off your debts. I mean I save 25 quid a month for Christmas but everything else is on debts and living expenses. Some people have an emergency fund ? I think Nymedia has one, to surivive for 3 months if say you lose your job etc. I don't have one, but will def have one as soon as I can afford it!

morning:D i have woken up with a stinking cold and a head like cotton wool, hubby said i was snoring like a harley last night, yeh right ok we all know women don't snore or break wind now don't we;)

well dh has taken offspring out for a few hours so i can get on and have a proper tidy up, which won't take me long. its the washing mountain i neeeed to get through.

Fizzle - I second buffys suggestion about the "getting it in writing first" I'm sure I've seen template letters around somewhere for this.....good luck with it all.

I'd like to try and post here abit more often for the sanity () and the motivation of trying to get my debts sorted.

This year, aside from regular debt payments I need to find...

£200 DD school trip
£100 both DD's spending money for school trips (other trip paid for already)
£350 school uniform for DD2 (starts secondary in september - that's the basic uniform costs- ouch!)
£700 deposit to move house
£300 fees/moving costs

So if I promise to bring a tin of choccies daily, can I join in please? Uh?

p.s. I'm house trained.
