Speeding Fines

I have just received my NIP (notice of Intended Prosection) from Surrey police for doing 50mph on a deserted dual carriageway (A217 in Burgh Heath, Surrey) at midday. The speed limit is 40. I don't condone speeding but in this (like many I guess) instance i felt my intended prosecution is purely a revenue generation tool. I was driving and the car is mine.

I have found a couple of websites that claim to get people off speeding fines through legal means. Has anyone got any experience/recommendations of these services.
Thanks and Happy New Year to all MSE posters!

PS this is my first posting on MSE so apologies for any mistakes.

As this is a fledgling forum I am afraid there is lttle evidence of any speeding expertise at the moment. 'Bargepole and a coule of other members know their stuff on that I think but-

No hesitation in this case of advising you to take this to the 'PePiPoo' forums where they discuss many speeding cases every day and are very knowledgable. It is a free forum.

As for paid services - don't know. I know there are some that deal with parking, etc and are a waste of the money they charge.

    Good luck.

(So i can appease the site owners a bit - maybe you could post the developments here and respond to help here also if any is given - so as to help this forum develop?)

There is no sure-fire legal way of getting off, anyone who claims differently is scamming you.

What you can do is post the information on the forum at www.pepipoo.com, and members there can advise you of the best course of action. It may be that there are issues with the NIP, or the signage, or the photography, in which case you will get good advice on how to fight it in court.

Edit: OP has posted as suggested, and been advised to request photos.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.
  • The speed limit was 40. You have admitted you were doing 50. End of story. Perhaps you think that other crimes should go unpunished as well - lets say shoplifting if it's from a national chain...after all, no harm done is there?

Stop moaning and pay up. You knew you were breaking the law. The fact that the road was quiet is irrelevant. Do you think that the law should not apply to you.

Oh dear I suddenly feel quite guilty because Mr/Ms pious here has obviously never done anything wrong in their life!

here ya go. Get ya head round this. ME 68mph in a 50 zone - NIP - challenged - cancelled. Not worth it? How can you possibly know anyones' particular circumstances?

Incidentally, it was my one and only ever speeding ticket. Points on my licence - zilch - ever. NCB - oooh - many years past maximum.

Also. Guess what! I knew the limit was 50 and I knew the camera was there - so mystery eh? How on earth did they drop that? They dropped it because of something you don't know - idiot - just like you don't know about the OP's case here.

Did I say that I had never broken the speed limit. No I did not. I was picked up by a police car doing 40 in a 30 limit. This was late at night on an empty road as well. But at least I put my hands up to a fair cop and paid the fine without whingeing about it.
CBHR has as good as admitted the offence on this forum, so I do not see why Neil B or anyone else should take offence at my comments. I did not realise that Neil B is a mind reader and knows all about me and apparently about CBRH as well.

No I don't know about you but that is how you came across - judgemental. I thought it was actually you making the supposition - about CBRH. He/she didn't admit anything.
They said they were speeding - but here's what you don't get - that doesn't make them guilty of speeding! Thankfully we still have due legal process in this Country.

I said i was speeding too. 68 in 50. Two others I know of were doing 77 and 81 at same place. All - NOT GUILTY of speeding.

    getting it yet?

No I am not getting it. But you are beginning to get a bit tiresome.
Maybe I am judgemental, but if more people were the same, there might be less people thinking that they can get away with stuff they know to be wrong. CBRH may not have admitted the speeding, but he did not deny it either. I shall not be posting any more on the subject as it has become a bit boring. Have a nice life.

Yes. You're a weaselly little get who used some loophole to get out of it. You're no better than rapists who get off using technicalities when you've clearly broken the law and been caught.
