Sorry if I've misunderstood, but I really can't see how you expect to be debt free by June when all you will have paid of your £2920.00 debt will be £462.00 ?

    Hi Searching Me,

Just wanted to wish you the best of luck in becoming debt free before baby is born. You'll be surprised what you can achieve!

Have you joined the January no spend thread (NSD) - its a mini challange set each month where you aim for a certain amount of NDS each month. Great way to curb the spending. I've joined Januarys and aiming for 10 days no spends. May help?

Why don't you see if you can find some bits to e-bay whilst decluttering?

Hopefully if your OH finds a job you'll be clearing that debt sooner :D

    Lots of luck x

I'm sure you'll get there. Posting here is always a good start, I find it keeps me motivated.

Maybe keep a spending diary for this month and see where you money goes and just try and make cut backs as and when. You have a great incentive to keep at it!!

Are you saying your partner is not signing on for Jobseekers Allowance? That money would make a huge amount of difference to you both. If you have paid tax you have earned your benefits in times of need. You have a baby on the way, and work is not so easy to come by as it was.

I have signed on three times for a month or so each time, when I had a contract finish and when I moved to a new area. It's not the most fun thing but it keeps your head above water. I actually found it helped motivate me to get work so I could show the snotty cow who worked at the Jobcentre!!

I have always found the best way to get a job is to get a CV photocopied loads of times and just take it into everywhere and ask for work or go through the Yellow Pages and post them all out. Leaving a CV means the company can get back to you at a later stage; it has never failed to get me interviewed for jobs that don't officially exist! There are some really good organisations about to help you get your CV looking up-to-date for free if you haven't been job hunting for a few years.

    :D
