Product key not being excepted

I'm trying to put Windows XP (pro) on my laptop but the product key (home edition )is not being excepted. Any advise would be welcome.

Apparenlty I can skip this bit and get a product key later but I cant seem to see how I can skip it !!

If you're using a Home Edition product key on an installation of Pro then it ain't going be accepted. You'll either need to get a Home Edition CD or a Pro product key.

so you dont have the home edition cd then, i may be wrong but theres no way to install xp pro without a key, i see 2 or 3 options, you can either borrow a home edition cd, buy a version of xp pro or home edition or install ubuntu which is free

Or you could purchase a key for Pro. I believe that some companies who strip PC's for parts will sometimes advertise the key on a well known auction site.
