Thanks lilmiss - I was soo happy when i passed, felt like that day was never going to come, just want a car now! Determined to buy it myself though, and not take money from mummy and daddy. So far saved £1.5K, 1K to go - which should hopefully be saved by the end of April - then i can buy one, all fully paid in full and no finance - be a first!

Re helicopter, we used this company http://www.libertyhelicopter.com/ and they're really good. From what i can remember it was reasonably priced too. If you do have some spending money left over, then give the copter ride a go! The New York pass sounds good - we didn't do that. What else do you get free? trying to work out if it will be worth you doing! Empire state building is a must, we enjoyed going up in the evening. 22 days - bet you cannot wait! You told your OH yet?

Well done Hayley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!congrats hun :-) As for a car, (i have to tread carefully coz have a feeling maria's got a pug but not a 206) but i had a loan 206 the other day and it was not great, felt really tinny and was not a good drive. VW's are always a good bet.
My Micras in having a oil leak sorted and they have given me another loan car. Its a 2009 micra with 7 (yes just 7) miles on the clock!!! it was just being delivered to them when i dropped off my car! Trouble is i'm scared to drive it so will be staying in today lol

Nearly time for your hol lilmiss-that time has gone so quickly!

Hope you're feeling less stressed today Jen what a carp day you had. have you had a look at that house?

Thanks MM! I was looking at the Pug 206 because it was a lil cheaper than the VW, however, if the pugs just going to give me problems then i'd rather something reliable. How you finding the Micra? are you missing the Mini? I really badly wanted a mini, but after reading about your problems its put me off. When i have a years driving experience, i think i may get a VW beetle convertible in black!
7 miles on the clock, i'd be out racking up the miles before i give it back lol. Go out for a drive MM in your brand new shiney Micra! Can you see how badly i want to be driving, give it a couple of months of having a car i wiil soon change my mind.

The Micra is brilliant-a million times better than the MINI, i'd only consider a MINI again if it was a post 2006 model and even then the Micra is much superior (although not as eyecatching!)
I dont think the pug would give you probs it just wasnt as well built and not as good quality as VW is.
Not going to rack up the miles coz i have to replace the fuel!!! also am definately not putting the dog in it!!
Not that keen on Beetles personally but i think thats coz OH had a 1966 beetle so i prefer the original-but I always said that about minis as well !

    Hi everyone,

The helicopter trip is really good Dawn, my best mate got me it for my 21st and told me on the plane over. Had to wait for ages but well worth it.

WE did stuff like boat trip to Ellis island, and round statue of liberty and went to central parc and empire state building and also did a fair bit of shopping, but we are girls hehe. You will have a great time whatever you do.

I seem to have spent a fair bit this month already but still have the holiday money ready to book. I am waiting to get the credit card i applied for through as i know is safer to book on credit card and then can pay it straight off.

    Hi all,

I've felt a bit rubbish recently. for one, I'm getting so fat it's getting me down. I was in dorothy perkins yesterday and tried on some jeans in a size 14 and couldn't even get them fastened! Then again I suppose it stops me from buying clothes. It didn't stop me going to Mcdonald's afterwards for a cheeseburger & a milkshake :S

Anywayyyy I'm glad to hear you like the Micra much better than the mini, MM :) with all the hype about minis you'd think it would be the better of the two but obviously not.

Just reading about all your holidays is making me jealous ;) I'd love to do a helicopter ride.

    Afternoon everyone,

I hope you have a good time lilmiss :), and well done on passing your driving test Hayley.

Does anyone else here use homepage friends? I got a payment back in Sept but it keeps rolling over from December. I sent them an email a month ago and got a reply but still haven't been paid. After reading the thread I've sent them another email threatening taking it further which has apparently worked for people who have posted on there. That was quite hard to do in itself as my personality is nothing like that. They owe me £55 this month and I had another £20 or so pending, if I don't get it I'll stop using it...
    Finally bought a home
    Starting mortgage £289,500 31.01.19 - Current outstanding £192,586.98/CENTER]
    Overpayments since 27.03.19: £52,407.47

I use them Nikki. I have had a couple of payouts from them, but haven't had one in a while (though I have only just got up to £20 again so that's why). Hope they pay out! Have you tried the HPF thread here on MSE, maybe ask and see if other people have had problems being paid recently?
