Hello, I'm new - can I join in?
I USED to be a firm believer in the 'See it? Want it? Buy it!' philosophy, I am determined to be debt free in 2009 (don't have lots of debt, but it's still there!) so I need to learn to say NO!0 -
Hi Grammar Girl-of course you can!!! You'll be right at home here -we all need to stop our see it want it buy it urges (especially me who was debt free and then bought a car (idiot!!!!) Theres usually someone about at most times of the day so welcome !0

Thanks MM, I got some lovely onyx beads delivered this morning and again can't wait to use them, why won't my metal flowers arrive!! Your poor car, I hope the new one is a bit better when it comes to MOT time. Mine has only done 4000 miles since the last one, so if the emissions test is alright I don't think there should be any problems, but the emissions thing is concerning me a lot as it was quite close on one of the bits last time.

Afternoon all,
I feel so stupid today. I just don't understand anything on my course... I'm tempted not to go in today as I know I have failed the exam (and that's the part that I thought I did understand at first..!). No matter how much I read through the notes, nothing makes sense. I was awake all night worrying about today as I just don't want to go back. I always seem to fall at the first hurdle. My mum just doesn't seem to care, so long as I'm doing *something*... bet if I left she'd have something to say.grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Sorry for the rant.
Hope everyone else is having a better day than me xxx0 -
Keep plugging away at it CL, I'm sure things will slot into place soon and you'll be really proud of yourself once you've finished the whole year
.
I've just done a quick search and it seems like a high lambda is quite a common problem with Fiats. If mine fails it looks like it would cost in the region of £100 to fit a new sensor, though my dad knows a mechanic so it might be a bit less.
Also, quick question, I haven't had a car that failed an MOT (yet lol), I know if it does they give you a week to fix it? But if my old MOT has expired am I still allowed to drive the car that week? I'm assuming you are, but I wanted to check. Finally bought a homeStarting mortgage £289,500 31.01.19 - Current outstanding £192,586.98/CENTER]Overpayments since 27.03.19: £52,407.470 -
Awwww CL-hugs for you hun, hope you do go to college it would be a shame to pack it in when you've done so well so far-do you know for sure you have failed?
Not sure about the MOT thing Nicki-i know if itsrun out you can only drive it to the centre for a test but not sure how you stand if you have a week to fix it..will have to investigate!0 -
Just found this-doesn't look like you can Nicki.
Having a MOT failure sheet does allow you to drive on the road without a MOT certificate - but ONLY to be driven to have pre-booked repairs carried out or going back for a pre-booked retest (so chances are if you were to get stopped at 11 at night, you couldn't use that as an excuse!).0 -
Ugh, thanks for looking mm. I'll have to see when my other one expires, I have a feeling it's the 9th. Looks like I might not be seeing my boyfriend this weekend after all lol. Finally bought a homeStarting mortgage £289,500 31.01.19 - Current outstanding £192,586.98/CENTER]Overpayments since 27.03.19: £52,407.470

Think positive -it might pass!!!0

Hi all,
Yeah MM is right you cant drive it if MOT has expired. If it fails then you get a week to fix it to have the re-test for free. If over a week to fix it then you might have to pay for the MOT again.
Keep trying CL dont give up on it.
