I know ill probably get someone saying theres no need to worry if im not doing anything wrong ect but its just something id like to know as were living in a more big brother state! (or so the papers tell us)

Don't think so (but I'm drinking and therefore full of opinions on things I know nothing about). I do vaguely remember a case where some young 'un was caught speeding but his sat nav said he wasn't so I think he got off. (I may have made this up though????)

  • As someone else thats had a drink, I would like to say I set the cruise control to 50 mph sat nav speed (looks about 52 on the speedo) and overtake everyone through roadworks. Even with the average speed cameras, i've never had a NIP.

depends.. was your sat nav in your car, on the train, in your pocket while on a plane, nailed onto a grey hound?

what i'm saying is.... your sat nav isn't registered to your car so even if it was monitored they'd have no idea where the sat nav is. Plus if it was monitored i don't think anybody would ever buy one....

The answer has to me a no though or i'd never see my license again..

i wasnt with my sat nav when it was doing 120 mph officer, honest!
    ...work permit granted!
  • i may of misunderstoof, but sat navs only recieve gps signals, dont worry

a few newer ones report traffic information back, but no manufacturer would allow their units to get their customers nicked for speeding, otherwise no one would buy one
  • No, you cannot be done.
