There are some threads in the Cooking section of the MEGA Index sticky at the top of Old Style listed under "fussy eaters" that might give you some ideas tooHi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. I often do the HM pizzas too.
Otherwise I do a similar High Tea to Thriftlady. DS in particular has friends who are vegetarian or/and dairy free so this makes it easy. I put lots of different dishes on the table, all easy stuff, lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumber and carrot sticks/grated carrot, prepared fruit, cheese, hardboiled eggs, ham, veggie hot dogs, tuna, bread/rolls/crackers and butter/spread. Everyone helps themselves to what they like and seems to have a good time!
The selection varies according to the visitors but doesn't take long to put together. I sometimes include oven chips or a jacket potato instead of the bread.
I find it makes for a very sociable meal with lots of chatter and second helpings, passing things around and sharing. Not just a gobble it down and ask to leave the table.0 -
Thanks everyone for all your replies, theres lots of good ideas to be going on with there. I think what has held me back a little is that my own two are so fussy, their friends eat better. I am always suprised to meet a child who clears the plate and asks for more, I sooo wish mine were like that. I like the pizza idea, (except my own two will not eat pizza) and will try and get hold of Nigellas book too.0
