Went into the Chesterton Road shop in Cambridge and found a Cello DR 810. It was reduced from £79.99 to £49.99 so grabbed the last two on the shelf! I'm sure there are other branches about which have a similar deal on, grab it now while you can, it's a bargain. Have just unpacked it and includes all RGB cables needed and a scart lead as well. To clarify its a DVD Player & DVD Recorder in one. It also can record from AV equipment such as a DVD player/Sky Box.

Below is a specification of the model:

In my local Co-op (WoodstocK) these are still scanning at £79.99.

Yes some of the independant Coop Societies have not reduced the price of these units. By viewing the other posts in the thread the stores in question seem to be coop group store which do have stores nationally but not in all areas. Some of the independant Coops Societies do not follow Coop Groups reduction policy. After all being part of the buying team for the above coop i know what the cost price of the unit is and they are making a loss by selling at this price. We are a business and have taken a view that unless coop group (who we bought the stock from) gives credit then we will not sell at a loss unless market place dictates. as this is still one of the best priced machines on the market there is no need for us to lower the price, we dont have a great deal of stock remaining either.

I bought one of these just after Christmas for £49.99... couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the price.. had to buy one there and then!!

Took me a while to set it up because the first one I bought home didn't work

The replacement works a treat now.. and with SKY!

I can play all sorts of disc and it's relatively easy to use once you know the right buttons to press! Mine still has a few little quirks though sometimes.. usually when the SKY box turns off at night.. probably the way I set it up though!!

Anyway... £50 for a DVD recorder?! ..you're MAD if you don't buy one!!! ..and it's got it's own turner too! ..bonus! :rotfl:

This branch has 8 DVD Recorders left as of 4pm today. Returned my first one as had a fault, the dvd drive would only open so far and jam with the little flip down draw. Co-op happily replaced it with another unit, straight swap. All plugged in works superb!

    Cello DR-810 - £49.99.

Just unpacked and installed the second unit (my replacement). Worked fine up until I recorded something by timer, have just got home and unit refuses to show anything on screen. Theres power on the player itself, the splash/welcome screen shows on tele for about 4 or 5 seconds, then displays "root" on the screen and does not want to know! Going to return this in the morning, get a refund and think is probably worth spending that little bit extra for a bit more reliable piece of equipment. Has anyone else had many technical problems/faults with it? Also tried the customer support line, 20 minutes and still no-one answered....
