Hi
I have a worcestor bosch combi boiler but it doesnt have a thermostat.
I'd like a wireless one, are they easy to connect?
Is this one suitable?

that should be ok i think, look at the worcester link below, a friend has the mt10rf and its excellent and easy to use.

a few worcester ones are listed, but only for certain boilers.
id get a gas fitter in to advise and fit one for you. honeywell do a good one also, cm927 - 7 day programmable wireless stat but its £100 ish.
or cm921 24hr programmable wireless stat.0 -
Its cheap tat Katie. Programming increments are on the hour, no holiday functions, incomprehensible instructions, awkward to use etc
You can do much, much better.0 -
Hello, I'm due to be getting a new heating system and I'd be interested to know more about what constitutes a good wireless thermostat - for instance, what are holiday functions and why do I want them? The one that was linked to said it has 5 on/off's per day - does it have to come on and off that often, or is it just that it can if you want it to?0

A decent programmable room thermostat should have some or all of the following attributes:-
- Volt free switching, it's technical but you need it
- A setback temperature feature
- Frost protection
- The ability to start and stop on inter-hour increments such as 07:20
- Optimum start - i.e. work out how long it takes to warm the house and wake yourself up accordingly so the temperature will be right for the time I want it to be
- Holiday function i.e. I'll be away for 10 days, don't waste my money when I'm gone but make sure the house is warm when I return
- Party mode - I'm having unexpected guests for x hours, heat us up and then revert to normal programming

Just a quicky
Whats the diff between the thing on the boiler which allows you to dictate the times the heating should come on and the room thermostat that allows you to switch on the heating to a specfic temp.
Is the wireless thermostate made to replace the room thermostate or the one on the boiler ?
Thanks0 -
It replaces the room stat. If you've already got wiring for a room stat, you don't need a wireless one (unless you really need to move the stat between rooms for optimum temperature in particular places) - you can also get wired-in programmable stats with similar functions (as listed by EliteHeat above). The optimum start feature is just wonderful on cold mornings!
When we moved in to our current place, there was no thermostat at all, the heating just came on and off on the boiler's timeswitch (and the rads have their own stats). Adding a wireless room stat has saved us a fortune and made the place much more comfortable, without any disruption from wiring (except some simple stuff at the boiler end).4.7kWp (12 * Hyundai S395VG) facing more or less S + 3.6kW Growatt inverter + 6.5kWh Growatt battery. I found a wireless 7 day optimising honeywell thermostat for about £80 on ebay a few years ago - check on there, should be cheaper than direct with stores. Works fine with my Worcester bolier.0

I'm sure it works David, but when you can get something so much better for so little extra money, it may be worth paying extra...the Honeywells are worth every penny.4.7kWp (12 * Hyundai S395VG) facing more or less S + 3.6kW Growatt inverter + 6.5kWh Growatt battery.
